Bow when entering or
leaving the Dojang while saying Tai Kwon. This showing respect for the place
where we build our mind, body and spirit.
Address all Master
Instructors and Black Belts by their last names, as in “Master van Deuren”
or “Sabomnim van Deuren” or “Mr. van Deuren” or “Sir”. Answer all questions
by “Yes, sir” or “Yes, ma’am”. Junior students should display the same
respect to all parents and adults.
Always wear a clean
Workout Place Tae Kwon Do uniform while training in the Dojang. Wash your
uniforms!
Treat your uniforms and
belts with respect – they symbolize the sweat, tears and effort in your
training.
No loud talking, running
around, playing or chewing gum in the Dojang.
Avoid wearing jewelry in
class for your own safety and the safety of your fellow students. Absolutely
no large, dangling earrings or chains should be worn during class.
Never interrupt a class in
progress. If you are late for a class, ask for permission from the
instructor before you enter the class.
Shoes (other than those
designed specifically for martial arts) are not permitted in the matted
areas.
Take responsibility for
your belongings. Clothes, gear, shoes and other personal effects left behind
will be donated to goodwill unless reclaimed in a timely manner.
For students through high
school – you must submit your report card with your application to test.
School age students are expected to maintain a “B” average before being
allowed to test for Black Belt.
For Parents and Guardians:
Turn off the ringer on
your phone. For phone conversations, please step outside.
No unattended children in
the lobby. If your non-student child is making excessive noise, please take
him/her outside if class is in session.
No pets (other than
seeing-eye dogs) are allowed in the Dojang or lobby.
Food and drinks are
allowed in the front lobby area only.
Pick up your children in
within 15 minutes of the end of class – late pick-ups will be assessed
babysitting fees of $20/hour.
Do not leave valuables
unattended. Workout Place Tae Kwon Do is not responsible for lost or stolen
items.
